Comprehensive School Plan

At Jefferson Middle School Academy, we work to make sure every student feels loved, challenged, and prepared to positively influence society and thrive in life. In School Year 2017-2018, Jefferson Middle School Academy’s leaders and staff are focused on four big areas:
  • Social Emotional Learning: To increase students’ love for school and overall satisfaction to 80 percent, and to decrease suspension days and truancy by 10 percent per 100 students, we will implement programs with an even greater emphasis on student growth, positive thinking, and community building.
  • Literacy: To reduce the number of students reading below grade level by 5 percent and to increase the number of students reading on or above grade level by 5 percent, we will implement curriculum-aligned instruction, a school-wide writing initiative, reading intervention programs, and independent reading assignments.
  • Math: To reduce the number of students who are below grade level in math by 8 percent, and to increase the number of students who are on or above grade level in math by 5 percent, we will implement curriculum-aligned instruction and prioritize our instructional strategies.
  • Extra Support for Students: To ensure that 100 percent of our students who need extra support receive it and demonstrate academic and social-emotional growth, we will implement effective systems, roles, and responsibilities for our instructors.
